The Planning Council seeks to hire a Continuum of Care Coordinator of Homeless Services.
SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION: Facilitate the Continuum of Care process for community agencies and individuals of the Greater Virginia Peninsula Continuum of Care Council’s Taskforce on Homelessness, including the coordination and submission of a federal application to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Serve as staff person for the Taskforce on Homelessness including coordination of monthly meetings, subcommittee meetings, information exchanges, and training events. Provide ongoing needs assessment and data analysis of the homeless delivery system, including data collection and reporting, provide support and technical assistance to users of the Homeless Management Information System.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Human Services, or related field. Excellent oral and written communications skills, with experience speaking before groups. Demonstrated ability to conduct needs assessments, and analyze and assess data. Excellent database management skills. Ability to organize and coordinate group activities for multiple entities. Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
